My Rating & Review
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Violet Marsh's Our Dear Miss H Is On the Case is a blend of Regency romance and cozy mystery, a perfect treat for fans of both Bridgerton's swoon-worthy drama and Miss Marple's astute sleuthing. Though this is the second installment in the series, I jumped in without reading the first and was immediately drawn into the vivid world created by Marsh. The introduction to the quirky cast of characters, including the delightful menagerie of animals, was seamless and engaging.
Georgina and Alexander's investigation into her missing cousin Percy and a valuable archaeological find quickly escalates into a more complex web of intrigue, interwoven with a classic Regency marriage plot. Marsh balances the romantic tension between Georgina and Alexander with the unfolding mystery, keeping the reader thoroughly entertained. I listened to an advanced copy of the audiobook, and the narrator's performance brought the Regency era to life with needed inflections and intonations.
Our Dear Miss H Is On the Case is a delightful escape, offering a perfect blend of historical romance, mystery, and a touch of mayhem. If you're seeking a lighthearted and engaging read with a dash of wit and a whole lot of charm, check out this book.
